Network boot issue when Restart

Post by Fraal »

Hi Team,

If I boot the RPi3+ with wtware pxe boot it starts not a problem and loads fully, however if I 'restart' the device either by WTware Center remote restart commands or upgrade firmware and reboot it never starts and produces the error below.

It seems to only be a TFTP issue (am using wtware TFTP, HDCP and HTTP), any suggestions?

Cheers!

If it's TFTP issue, it should work with another TFTP. But it does not. I think it's Raspberry firmware bug.

Thanks atatik,

Seems others have had this problem with TFTP and PXE booting, even on the RPi 3 Model B only.
How would I go about updating firmware on RPi, does that involve installing Raspbian and updates ect?

Cheers.

Firmware on RPi is bootcode.bin, fixup.dat, start.elf, bcm27*.dtb. We include the newest at every wtware release.

I am seeing a similar thing with the latest release (5.8.20) on a new Raspberry Pi 3B+. Network boot with TFTP works from cold boot, but not after a reboot. In my case I used the Ctrl+Alt+Delete combination on the keyboard. I'll attach a log showing both boot sequences.

Hi, when i click in configurator to restart terminal, then raspberry won’t start again, see log. This is happening with version 5.8.14 an RPI 3B+
When i switch to version 5.8.22 and click on restart terminal, instead of restarting it shuts down, so have to replug power to start again.
