Hello,
I would like to upgrade current setup that is running on 5.6.24 (free version) to current version. Currently there are some RPi3 (with internal SD card, so internal storage configuration) that connect to wtware already running on the server. DHCP is external (option 18,66 are set), TFTP is integrated into wtware.
Floating license is at hand, but i can not configure it in this version as it does not have necessary configuration parameters.
I am thinking of upgrading wtware to 5.8.88 on server. At this point i would need to configure DHCP option 67, and licensing (as per "Concurrent licenses" section of https://wtware.com/licensing/terms.html). Do i need any additional configuration on the server at this stage?
If i upgrade WTware from 5.6.24 -> 5.8.88, will existing RPi-s that are currently working cease to work, or is the upgrade of server not disruptive to clients?
Then i can connect to each RPi3 via integrated http and upload newly generated image from WTware server (as per "Terminal boots from local disk" of https://wtware.com/docs5/version_update.html), or i can just push new versions from server directly (as per "Terminal boots by network" of https://wtware.com/docs5/version_update.html). Second option would be preferred if possible.
I would appreciate confirmation of my plan before i continue.
Thank you.

Upgrade of server is not disruptive to clients. Do not uninstall existing wtware. Install over.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 7:02 pm or is the upgrade of server not disruptive to clients?
First option for RPi that boots from SD (operating system files kernel7.img and other on SD).Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 7:02 pm Then i can connect to each RPi3 via integrated http and upload newly generated image from WTware server (as per "Terminal boots from local disk" of https://wtware.com/docs5/version_update.html), or i can just push new versions from server directly (as per "Terminal boots by network" of https://wtware.com/docs5/version_update.html). Second option for RPi that boots from network (no SD or single file bootcode.bin in SD root).

Upgrade went without problems and smoother than expected.
