What application does wtware use for RDP to Windows?

Hello Forum, I've been testing wtware and I'm very impressed with it's performance when connecting to our Windows 10 virtual machine. I've used other thin client systems on our Raspberry Pi 4 and found FreeRDP lagging and unusable. Does wtware use FreeRDP or is rdesktop used instead? I will continue...

Re: Help me understand the configuration files and templates

I suppose what I'm looking for is the stability of running from SD card so that I'm not dependent upon getting my configuration from another computer. but I would also like the flexibility of using the wtware configurator to deploy a change easily to the Pi Thin client when necessary. Can I setup (t...

Can't view wtware popup through VNC Viewer

When viewing wtware thin client using VNC Viewer, I can't see the wtware popup in the bottom right corner through VNC? the operator can see this popup but if I wanted to see it through VNC how can I do that?

Thank you.

Re: Pi 4 heat question

Thank you for confirming this for me. Very much appreciate your feedback. This is very interesting then. I also see that wtware can run only in memory which I think is great so if power is cut on these wtware thin clients there is no damage to the SD cards if the wtware O/S is running in memory. The...

Re: Pi 4 heat question

Hello Akatik,

Thank you for the link to the bootloader.

But my questions are still unanswered. Are you saying that a bootloader is not added by wtware?

Or if the bootloader is being added by wtware..what version is being added in wtware 5.8.88?

Thank you.

Re: Help me understand the configuration files and templates

My plan is to support wtware remotely (I'm not onsite at the office that I plan to use wtware and thin clients). I also don't want to mix up dhcp servers in the office by running two. So my plan was as follows: 1. Create a basic configuration file that gets a thin client on the network and booted to...

Re: Pi 4 heat question

What bootloader is used on wtware 5.8.88? And what is the process to update wtware 5.8.88 to include the latest Raspberry Pi bootloader?

Or are you saying that wtware doesn't include any bootloader and IF I want to use a bootloader I can it manually.

Please confirm which is the answer.

thank you.

Re: VNC Viewer for dual display recommendations

To confirm...there is a roadmap to implement VNC viewer into configurator? That would be very useful. Any timeline on that update?

Thank you.

Help me understand the configuration files and templates

Hello Team, I'd like to better understand best practice when it comes to setting up my wtware environment. I use Raspberry Pi (4's) where my plan is to have the configuration file for wtware installed onto each SD card. But then I want each Pi thin client to be able to receive new configuration entr...

Re: Pi 4 heat question

I'm using wtware 5.8.88. Will this use the latest bootloader by default? How does the bootloader get updated in wtware? If Raspberry Pi has a new bootloader and I keep my wtware configurator up to date, will wtware automatically update each Pi thin client with a new bootloader? Or will I need to tak...

Re: VNC Viewer for dual display recommendations

Excellent! using port 5901 works perfectly.

I see there is a "Monitor 1" and "Montor 2" in wtware configurator. Are these used to show me what is on the screen of a running Pi thin client? If so, how do I use Monitors?

thank you,
