I'm thinking Windows firewall session timeout. Maybe grab a wireshark from a mirror port (at the RPi end) to see.

Install older Windows. Windows XP or Windows 7 without servicepacks and do not update it. On some other machine, or VM, but not on this ESXi 6 server.

And try to connect with mstsc.exe to Windows 10 on ESXi.

Will this issue appear or not?

Slow RDP Connection

Folks I'm noticing a weird issue I can not seem to figure out.

We got a ESXi 6 server running 5 Windows 10 VMs and our Raspberry 3's are used to connect to them.
The network is plain and simple just one VLAN with everything in it (so no filtering).

When we connect to the VMs we notice that after we been working for a while that if we click on an application that we've already got open on the background it can take up to 10-20 seconds before it shows on the Raspberry. We also notice this with a simple action like clicking the startmenu icon (when we havent used it in 15 minutes or longer).

We thought it would be an issue in the Windows 10 image but after extended testing (using the ESXi console and native RDP from a Windows 10 Desktop to the VMs) we concluded that everything seems fine using those methods.

Now, I'm afraid the issue might be inside the Raspberry 3 running WTware (version 5.4.32).
We did not disable NLA as our authentication works fine and we couldnt come up with a reason that it would impact performance.

Has anyone experienced this earlier? Any recommendations?
