Postby markus » Fri Feb 03, 2017 4:20 pm

Hi

i have a issue with redirect of an USB BarCodeScanner which is connect via USB to the Rasp PI2.
Since the last couple of days, the scanner was not longer seen in the virutal WIN 7 system. Wtware .5.4.20 was in use.
Today i proceed an upgrade to 5.4.68 version.
In the log I can seen that the barscanner but not in the Windows OS.

Please check.
attached you can find the log.

Re: serial =com4(usb) BarCodeScanner from Pi2 to Win7 Pro

Postby markus » Fri Feb 03, 2017 4:30 pm

After an additional test i found the following messages in the log, please help.
Either an addiontal issue with the USB HUb.
Please replace it, but why the scanner goes to ttyACM1 now?

Is there a possibility to redirect right?
Within in former post, i tried to redirect only the USB device ID - you mentioned to use serial=com4(USB)

Re: serial =com4(usb) BarCodeScanner from Pi2 to Win7 Pro

Postby aka » Fri Feb 03, 2017 5:30 pm

Please, show me the full log. From boot to the error. Do not disconnect scanner while you use it. Remove USB hub if there's any. Check twice, that you provide enough power to Raspberry.

HI,

I changed the USB Port of the BarCode Scanner from the USB Hub(where it was near by one year) to the Rasp direct.
In the log you can see the change. Nothing changed in issue.

No problems in log. WTware found and redirected scanner. Look at Windows side.
Connect this scanner to Windows machine and redirect with mstsc.exe. Will it work? What exactly do you do to see the scanner on Windows?

hi,

thx for response.
before the issue occured, the redirection created in the device-manager the com4 device.
that is missing, so the software can not find it.
More or less thats the reason.
maybe do you know a solution?

the scanner connect to the system direct works fine.

PS: com device does NOT appear in Device Manager if serial port is redirected over RDP. Run "change port" from windows command line cmd.exe to see if port is redirected.

HI,

update to the issue regarding usb -> com4 port forwarding.
First thx for help and take notice from my issue.

For explaination an USB wireless barcode scanner is used.
The software, which runs on the Windows 7 system (old visual environment), which is used in the voluntary LowerAustria Fire Brigade, this is used to collect the used equipment and resources.
Since I am active in the IT, the system virutalized (Vmware) installed.
This greatly facilitates the continuous patching of the OS, as well as the installation of the running software updates and master data maintenance, which are made available via various IP protocols.
The Raspberry is therefore only used as a USB redirector (scanner) as a classic terminal.

Yesterday evening, after an assignment, I opened the radio scanner and connected the accu and connected again.
Since then the scanner can be reused.
Funk BarCode scanner, by means of disconnect / connect from the internal accu works again flawlessly.

Thx again,

Markus
