Identical unit will not work if it's Model B+. B+ has another network card and released later than 5.6.24 so unsupported by 5.6.24.

I'm dealing with an issue where my Raspberry Pi 3 Model B was damaged, and I've since substituted it with another identical unit from my spares. However, this replacement seems to have a problem with its network card not being recognized (when I run ifconfig, it only shows the loopback address and no eth0). I'm currently using WTware version 5.6.24. Can anyone shed some light on what might be the issue?
